PROTEAS OFF-SPINNER JOINS RE/MAXRE/MAX OF SOUTHERN AFRICA ANNOUNCES RE/MAX COAST AND COUNTRY Cape Town - RE/MAX of Southern Africa this week announced that Pat Symcox, Proteas off-spinner and business partner Hartwieg du Rand earlier this month converted their Colliers Real Estate office in Scottburgh to international property group RE/MAX. "What attracted us to the brand was the ability to connect globally. This means we no longer have to build a brand as RE/MAX is the biggest real estate group in the world. We are looking forward to the results that this partnership will create," says Symcox. Symcox and du Rand, who have captured a significant portion of market share on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, particularly from a commercial and industrial perspective, have grown their business on the personal relationships that have been built over the last few years. They now plan to expand their operation significantly into the residential and development arena. "Symmo and Hartwieg run a very successful business and are also a perfect fit with the culture and ethos of RE/MAX. We are confident that they will not only continue on that path, but will soar to new heights with the backing of the RE/MAX brand," says Adrian Goslett, Assistant Regional Director of RE/MAX of Southern Africa. Symcox is not the only sports star in this South Coast office. His son Russell represented the Natal Dolphins cricket team in over 40 matches and du Rand, having switched professions from teaching, played professional rugby in Italy for two seasons. Former Springbok leg-spinner Pelham Henwood and ex-Natal wicket-keeper Gerald Katz own and manage what is arguably the strongest real estate operation in Pietermaritzburg - RE/MAX Midlands. Henwood and Katz have been RE/MAX franchisees for over 10 years and are coincidentally personal friends with Symcox, who adds to this ever growing RE/MAX sporting celebrity list. RE/MAX Coast and Country will be situated in and service Scottburgh as well as surrounding areas. Contact Pat or Hartwieg on ( 039 976 1211 ) for assistance.
